1. Local In-Browser Processing

CompressGIF executes all GIF decoding, frame analysis, optimization, and encoding entirely inside your web browser.

• Your image files are never sent over the internet or uploaded to any server.
• We have no backend storage, file databases, or cloud processing servers.
• Your files exist only in your browser's temporary memory and disappear as soon as you close or refresh the browser tab.

2. Anonymous Telemetry & Analytics

To monitor engine reliability and error rates, we collect high-level, anonymous technical telemetry via a lightweight API endpoint (/api/events):

• Event Types: File loaded, compression started, compression succeeded, target size unmet, compression failed, cancelled, and download button clicked.
• Aggregated Properties: Language preference (en/zh-Hans), selected compression mode, file byte size, processing duration in milliseconds, coarse device type (desktop/tablet/mobile), and non-identifiable technical error codes.
• Strict Exclusions: We strictly prohibit and reject filenames, image pixel buffers, EXIF metadata, or persistent file hashes.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use advertising tracking cookies, third-party user profiles, or fingerprinting scripts. Privacy-friendly web analytics operate without tracking cookies to respect user privacy.
